Conservation Opportunities Program

The Methow Conservancy protects high-priority conservation properties in the Methow Valley through two tools: conservation easements and land ownership. Conservation buyers are critical to the ongoing stewardship of properties that are protected by a conservation easement, while donors to our Land Fund make it possible for us to purchase and protect other high-priority places when opportunities arise.

Conservation Buyers

The Methow Conservancy is looking for conservation buyers interested in purchasing high-priority conservation properties in the Methow Valley!

These buyers are critical to the ongoing stewardship of properties that are protected by a conservation easement. Or, these buyers can choose to work with the Methow Conservancy to place a conservation easement on properties with high quality habitat, significant river frontage, connection to existing protected areas, or productive agricultural soils that are at risk of subdivision and degradation.

Here are a series of links to the real estate listings of properties currently for sale that either have conservation easements or are part of a conservation project with us:

Hungry Mountain Ranch near Town of Methow

Wolf Creek Road near Mazama

Riverfront near Pateros

Close to ski trails near Mazama

If you would like to learn more about any of these listings, please contact the listing agent.

If you would like to learn more about the potential tax advantage of donating a conservation easement, or if you would like to sell to a conservation buyer, please contact us at 509-996-2870 or email us.

Although our staff is available to help a conservation buyer find that special property in the Methow, we are not realtors. Therefore, we accept no fees or commissions for our work and instead seek to work in partnership with members of our local real estate community in matching worthy properties with conservation-minded buyers.

Conservation Donors

Donations to our Land Fund make it possible for us to purchase and protect other high-priority places when opportunities arise. These opportunities almost always present themselves suddenly and are on a tight timeline. There often isn't time to run a successful capital campaign to purchase particular pieces of property with high conservation values. Our Land Fund gives us the capacity to act quickly to ensure that high-priority conservation properties can be protected.

Donate to our Land Fund HERE. If you'd like to discuss what types of projects we might complete with Land Fund donations, please contact our Executive Director, Sarah Brooks, at 509-996-2870 or sarah@methowconservancy.org.
