Fire Season 2025
On these hot dry days of fire season, it's important to keep a few things burning in your mind:
1) Don't Burn
There is a total burn ban in Okanogan County right now – all campfires are prohibited. If you see a campfire, please either put it out or call the USFS at 509-996-4000 during business hours, or if you don’t get an answer, call 911.
Don’t park in tall grass; don't throw cigarette butts out the window; don't light fireworks. In other words, don't be a fire-starter!
2) Be Prepared
- Sign up for the free Okanogan County Alerts to receive time-sensitive alerts about hazards like fires, severe weather, etc. Check annually to update.
- Visit the Fire Adapted Methow website to learn more about fire readiness measures, to help reduce the risks to your home and family.
- Get the free Watch Duty app to get real-time wildfire information for any US geographic area you scroll to.
3) Continue with your firewise efforts. Visit the Fire Adapted Methow resource page.
The Methow Conservancy is not a fire management or prevention agency; we are merely sharing information about fire readiness measures residents and visitors can take.
