First Tuesday: In the Field w/ McFarland Creek Lamb Ranch

First Tuesday: In the Field w/ McFarland Creek Lamb Ranch

When: Tuesday, July 11 at 7pm
Where: McFarland Creek Lamb Ranch (Get Directions)

Join the Conservancy at McFarland Creek Lamb Ranch to learn about Katie Haven and Bill Tackman’s lamb and fiber operation. This multifaceted tour and conversation will touch on many aspects of farming in the Methow Valley: sharing the landscape with wildlife and predators, creating and marketing value added products, aging in place while working the land, and how the farm has evolved in nearly a decade since being swept bare by the Carlton Complex Fire.

This event is free and open to the public. Contact Bridger with any question you may have. Cold beverages will be provided, and we’ll have a few folding chairs onsite. Attendees should plan to be standing in the field for about half an hour. The other half of the tour will be indoors learning about fiber production and the natural dye work that Katie does onsite. The Lamb Ranch is a beautiful slice of the Methow; see you there!
