A Bird in the Hand: An Introduction to Banding Birds

Julie has a B.S. in Natural Resources Management from the University of Michigan and a M.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Florida. For the first half of her career, Julie was a nongame wildlife biologist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. For the second half of her career, she was an endangered species biologist at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina where she monitored and helped recover a population of endangered Red-cockaded Woodpeckers.

Julie retired and moved to the Methow Valley in 2016. Julie's sister and her partner live in Winthrop, and after visiting numerous times on vacation, Julie knew this is where she wanted to be. She has been banding birds for over 20 years, for her work and as a volunteer, and is looking forward to sharing some of her experiences on September 6th.

We hope you'll join us for this free event, open to the public. For more information contact bridger@methowconservancy.org or call him at 509.996.5873. See you there!
