First Tuesday: Rural Changes - Hydrology with Chris Konrad
First Tuesday: Rural Changes - Hydrology with Chris Konrad
When: Tuesday, October 3 at 7pm
Where: Twisp River Tap House
Water availability in the Methow Valley is a story of contrasts - spring snowmelt with summer drought, deep snowpack on the Cascade Crest with the dry shrub steppe. The contrast between abundant shallow groundwater along rivers and limited water deep in bedrock aquifers is clear for people living on hillsides and mountain tops. Join us at the Tap House for an update on the State of the Methow from Methow Conservancy Senior Ecologist, Julie Grialou, followed by a First Tuesday talk by Chris Konrad about how rocks store water and how that water is connected to people and rivers in the Methow Valley. Chris is a hydrologist with the US Geological Survey.
Doors will open at 6:15, presentation at 7pm. The Tap House will be offering drinks and delicious food on a night when they are typically closed. Come early and support a local business by purchasing a drink, a snack, or dinner! Contact Bridger with any questions you may have.
