First Tuesday: Compost Tour with Kate Wynne

First Tuesday: Compost Tour with Kate Wynne

When: Tuesday, May 7 at 7pm
Where: B2G Compost (124 Horizon Flat Rd, Winthrop)

Join us to learn more about B2G Compost from owner-operator Kate Wynne. This interactive event kicks off our field-based season, and will include a detailed walk through of Kate's new facilities here in Winthrop. Kate had a full career as a scientist, and now she has shifted her curiosity and attention to detail toward dialing in the perfect recipe to effectively convert food scraps into high quality compost. The building blocks for Kate's compost are acquired by diverting waste streams from arborists, a number of local businesses, and residents enrolled in Methow Recycle’s compost program. There's a particular glimmer in Kate's eye when she get's talking about compost; she cares deeply about this project, it's waste saving potential, and the science behind the product.

We will meet at Kate’s residence before touring both past and present composting sites. Because access via her private drive is limited, please consider carpooling with friends and follow directions of the on-site event assistant to maximize parking efficiency. This event is free and open to the public. Reach out to Bridger with any questions.
