We want to hear yours. And, we want you to find joy in the stories of others.
Heart in the Methow River below our office.
The Methow Conservancy serves to inspire people to care for the land of the Methow Valley. To us, that means more than just protecting the best wildlife habitat, agricultural lands, clean rivers, and scenic views. It means preserving a Methow way of life.
The first step in preserving that way of life is articulating what it is we love about this place. As Professor Donald Snow of Whitman College notes, “The best way to prepare for growth is to make clear, in public venues, exactly what it is you value about your community and your area and immediately begin protecting those values.”
Our conservation work is forever and it is for future generations. Imagine giving future generations not just a healthy landscape but also a tangible reminder of the importance of this place to people.
The Love this Valley campaign is our effort to raise as many of these stories as possible. We want to hear your Methow Love Story. We hope that you will share it with us!
As we receive stories, we’ll post them here.
